Clinical interests
: Neuropsychological assessment with patients presenting with diverse concerns, including neurological, medical, and/or psychiatric.  

The neuropsychology service at St. Joseph’s Health Care London provides consultation to a variety of clinical programs. These programs have a strong interdisciplinary focus, with team members from neurology, physiatry, psychiatry, social work, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language therapy, and nursing. 

As part of this placement, trainees will have an opportunity to work with diverse presentations, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, neurodegenerative disease, and/or psychiatric conditions. Services are provided to inpatient and outpatient programs serving adults and older adults. The purposes of assessment can be related to differential diagnosis, description of cognitive impairment, to support rehabilitation efforts, and/or to comment on issues related to return to work/school. There may be opportunities to conduct brief cognitive rehabilitation interventions.

Types of client problems: Variety of neurocognitive disorders. Presenting concerns are diverse and could include any disease/issue affecting the function of the central nervous system.  

Type of supervision you can provide: Developmental model used; supervision and goals are based on students’ training goals and previous exposure; supervision activities may include modelling, observation, review of audio recording, co-interview and co-feedback provision. Trainees are expected to participate in all aspects of the assessment process. Weekly supervision meetings are scheduled, and trainees are welcome to reach out to the supervisor anytime as needed.

Research interests: I am an Allied Scientist with the Lawson Health Research Institute. My current research interests include measurement of cognition and investigating the use of assessment tools in culturally diverse populations.
