Clinical interests: My clinical interests include neuropsychological assessment regarding a wide range of neurological conditions as referred from a general neurology/neurosurgery hospital service. Patient populations consist of a wide variety of neurological conditions and disorders including but not limited to the dementias (e.g., Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease), demyelinating disorders (e.g., Multiple Sclerosis), cerebrovascular disorders, CNS infections, tumours, and traumatic brain injury. Patient age ranges from young adults to the very elderly. My theoretical orientation to neuropsychological assessment is best described as a flexible battery approach, which utilizes elements of hypothesis-testing process.
Topics for workshops, seminars: Identifying comorbid neuropsychological symptoms in patients: When to refer to neuropsychology; Provision of test results (feedback) to patients and family ("How to give bad news well"); A general talk on dementia; Talks on specific domains of functioning (e.g., frontal lobe executive skills, memory, attention/concentration, etc.); Talks on specific neurological disorders (e.g., Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, Traumatic brain injury, etc.)
