Profile

Dr. Jennifer Sutton joined the Department of Psychology at Western University in May 2024, after spending 17 years at Brescia University College as an Assistant and then Associate Professor, and finally as Provost. Her training in Psychology includes a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky, MA and PhD degrees with a focus on animal cognition from Western University, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto. Dr. Sutton’s current research addresses the mechanisms underlying spatial cognition and navigation in adults, and she has conducted work with children and multiple non-human species in the past. Her research has been funded by NSERC and internal grants from Brescia and Western. Dr. Sutton’s teaching has included courses in cognitive psychology, research methods, and statistics.
