I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at Western, and then my MSc and PhD in clinical psychology at Bowling Green State University, Ohio. Following an internship at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric pain at the IWK-Grace Health Centre and Dalhousie University. I also worked as a psychologist at the IWK-Grace Health Centre, Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Centre, and the Victoria General Hospital.From 1996 to 1999, I was a psychologist and researcher at The Toronto Hospital which included positions as a Pre-doctoral Clinical Intern Supervisor, Staff Scientist in Cardiology at the University Health Network, and Assistant Professor, Public Health Sciences, at the University of Toronto.
In 1999, I took a joint position in the Departments of Psychology (50%) and Family Medicine (50%) at Western. I am currently an Associate Professor in Psychology and Family Medicine, with a cross-appointment in Paediatrics. I hold Scientist appointments with the Children’s Health and Lawson Health Research Institutes. Throughout my career I have maintained a small private practice providing services for individuals across the lifespan.
