NSERC USRA Summer 2018 Program

The deadline for the NSERC USRA program for the Department of Psychology is February 28, 2018.  Application materials must be received by the Psychology main office (SSC 7418) by this date.

Application information.

Students applying to this program must have their application sponsored by a faculty member from the Psychology Department.  These faculty sponsors must hold an active NSERC Grant, and each faculty member may sponsor one application.

Undergraduates wishing to apply to this program should contact potential supervisors directly well in advance of the deadline.  Successful applicants in Psychology will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Research experience and potential of the student
  • Academic excellence of the student
  • Quality of the proposed research experience

When a student and a faculty member reach agreement on a possible summer project:

The student must login or register using the NSERC Online System at the NSERC website.

The student must complete Form 202 Part I online.  http://www.nserc-crsng.gc.ca/Students-Etudiants/UG-PC/USRA-BRPC_eng.asp

The student should print and complete this Stipend Form. The faculty member with whom they are applying should sign this and fill it in. There is no need for any other signature on the stipend form, except your supervisor’s.

The faculty member should login or register at NSERC website and complete Form 202 Part II online.

Applicants should submit the following items to the Psychology Main Office (SSC 7418) by 4:00 PM February 28, 2018.
i) Printed copy of Form 202 Parts I and II.  
ii) Signed stipend form.
iii) Copy of student transcript (unofficial copy is fine)
iv) Student CV or resume listing prior research experience.
